Footsteps To Our Past: Getting to know our Ancestors ONE by ONE

African saying:

"When an elder dies,
it is as if an entire library
has burned to the ground."

As time passes, so do the ways we gather and share the stories of those who came before us. I love researching my family history, and it brings me such joy to discover pieces of the past and weave them into something meaningful. For a long time, I kept a lot of information here, but most of it was data, names, dates, places, without the stories that truly bring a life to light.

I’ve felt inspired to create a better way to share the experiences, memories, and moments that shaped our ancestors. Because of that, I’ve removed the information from this page. Everything can now be found on FamilySearch, Ancestry, etc. They’re not complete, and they never really will be for now, but they form a foundation that helps us understand the lives our ancestors once lived.

This season of my life doesn’t give me as much time as I’d like to work on these stories, but my hope is to find a better balance. I want to create something that helps us know our ancestors not just as names on a page, but as real people with real joys, struggles, and faith. Their stories deserve to be remembered, and I look forward to sharing them as I can.
